ARTICULO 55. Los vehículos, las carrocerías, las partes y los repuestos que se importen, ensamblen o fabriquen con destino al transporte público colectivo municipal de pasajeros y mixto, deberán satisfacer las condiciones mecánicas, de comodidad y seguridad que señale el Código Nacional de Tránsito Terrestre, además de los requisitos especiales indicados para cada caso por el Instituto Nacional de Transporte y Tránsito.
