Servicios de Investigación. Comprende el estudio y análisis preventivo de riesgos y/o de las causas y fundamentos de los incidentes presentados al interior de una empresa o de quien desarrolla una determinada actividad, a fin de proveer por el cumplimiento de las finalidades y objetivos que persigue la seguridad privada.

En ningún caso los investigadores en seguridad privada podrán prestar servicios como detectives privados o ejercer labores de investigación judicial o realizar actividades de competencia de las entidades estatales; tampoco pueden efectuar estudios de consultoría ni asesoría en seguridad privada.
