Las sanciones de amonestación privada o escrita las impondrá el jefe inmediato del empleado; las multas y suspensiones serán impuestas por el jefe del organismo, y la destitución por la autoridad nominadora. La sanción del aplazamiento del ascenso en el Escalafón, es competencia de la Comisión de Personal de la Carrera.
