Retiro. Retiro de la Policía Nacional es la situación en que, por disposición del Gobierno para Oficiales o de la Dirección General para Suboficiales, unos y otros sin perder su grado policial, cesan en la obligación de prestar servicio en actividad, salvo en los casos de reincorporación por llamamiento especial al servicio o por movilización.
