Art. 4°. El Cuerpo de gendarmería se organizará militarmente, será comandado por dos Jefes que se denominaran 1° y 2° respectivamente; y constará de 300 gendarmes, divididos en tres Compañías.

Cada Compañía tendrá un Capitán, dos Tenientes, un Subteniente, un Sargento primero, cuatro Sargentos segundos, ocho Cabos primeros, ocho Cabos segundos y el número de gendarmes que le corresponda.
