Los exhortos de las autoridades judiciales colombianas o de las autoridades extranjeras para obtener la citación o examen de testigos, y, en general, la práctica de cualquiera prueba o diligencia, se tramitarán por la vía diplomática. En casos de urgencia, la autoridad judicial podrá transmitirlas directamente a los agentes diplomáticos o consulares del país en el Exterior, dando aviso del hecho al Ministerio de Gobierno.
