Dirección General de Transporte Fluvial. La Dirección General de Transporte Fluvial cumplirá las siguientes funciones

Definir los planes y programas de obras de encauzamiento, dragado, conservación, operación y señalización de las vías fluviales navegables.

Impulsar la política de concesiones fluviales, aprobar y otorgar por medio de resolución motivada las concesiones fluviales, modificarlas, revocarlas y declarar su caducidad.

Coordinar con la Dirección General Marítima del Ministerio de Defensa Nacional, los asuntos relativos a la navegación fluvial en las zonas de frontera internacional.

Las demás que les sean asignadas y que correspondan a la naturaleza de la dependencia.
