Origen. La Medalla “Servicios Distinguidos a la Escuela de Formación de Infantería de Marina”, fue creada mediante el artículo 155 del Decreto 1816 de 2007, para estimular y premiar al personal que haya sobresalido por sus capacidades profesionales, técnicas y dedicación, al igual que a entidades oficiales, particulares y personal que haya prestado eminentes servicios, propendiendo por el desarrollo y proyección de la Escuela de Formación de Infantería de Marina.
