Artículo primero. Naturaleza. El Instituto de Fomento Industrial es una sociedad de economía mixta, dedicada al desarrollo industrial de acuerdo con lo dispuesto en el artículo 30 del Decreto 1157 de 1940 y en el artículo primero de la Ley 16 de 1963, vinculada al Ministerio de Desarrollo Económico. El Instituto de Fomento Industrial podrá usar como sigla para su identificación la palabra IFI.
