El médico debe dar informe pormenorizado, por escrito, al Director, sobre la muerte de todo detenido o condenado ocurrida en la Cárcel o Penitenciaria, y de las causas que la motivaron. El Director, hechas los anotaciones en los libros, dará aviso inmediato del fallecimiento a los parientes del detenido o condenado, a las personas que éste haya indicado, a las autoridades encargadas del registro civil y a la Dirección General de Prisiones.
