Ascenso a Brigadier General. Para ascender al grado de Brigadier General, el Gobierno escogerá libremente entre los Coroneles que hayan cumplido las condiciones generales y específicas que este Estatuto determina, que sean egresados de la Escuela General Santander, posean el título de Oficial Diplomado en la Academia Superior de policía y hayan realizado un curso de altos estudios de acuerdo con reglamentación del Gobierno.
