º . Objeto. El Instituto Nacional de Cancerología -Empresa Social del Estado- tiene como objeto asesorar y asistir al Ministerio de Salud en la determinación, fijación y evaluación de las políticas, programas, proyectos y actividades de investigación, docencia, prevención y atención del cáncer, de conformidad con las estrategias y políticas de la Dirección del Sistema General de Seguridad Social en Salud. En desarrollo de lo anterior, adelantará programas, proyectos y actividades de investigación, docencia, prevención, tratamiento y rehabilitación, con el fin de garantizar el eficiente, eficaz y efectivo cumplimiento de su objeto, bajo los principios de igualdad, solidaridad y rentabilidad social.
