La Dirección del Departamento Administrativo de la Presidencia de la República estará cargo del Director quien también se denominará Secretario General, y será quien ejerza la representación legal del Departamento, en los términos del artículo 65 de la Ley 489 de 1998 y demás disposiciones que regulan la materia. El Secretario General asistirá de manera permanente al Consejo de Ministros y al Consejo Nacional de Política Económica y Social (Conpes).
