El registro de obras y de actos se hace por medio de una diligencia que debe ajustarse, en lo posible, a la forma y términos prescritos por el derecho común para el registro de instrumentos públicos o privados.

Tal diligencia será firmada en el libro o libros correspondientes, por el interesado que solicitó la inscripción y por el Registrador nacional de propiedad intelectual.
