El Estado adelantará cada cinco años una encuesta sociolingüística que permita realizar una observación sistemática de las prácticas lingüísticas y evaluar la situación de uso de las lenguas nativas de Colombia. Esta encuesta sociolingüística contará con la asesoría del Ministerio de Cultura y se ejecutará en concertación con las autoridades de los pueblos y comunidades de los grupos étnicos.
