Las alcaldías, a solicitud de CARBOCOL, verificarán los datos suministrados por los productores de carbón en el registro de que trata el artículo anterior, informarán oportunamente a dicha entidad sobre los resultados de tal verificación y podrán imponer multas de hasta diez mil pesos ($10.000) en favor del tesoro municipal, en caso de llegar a comprobar cualquier inexactitud en los mencionados datos. Carbones de Colombia S. A., podrá en todo caso verificar directamente la exactitud de los datos referidos.
