En desarrollo de lo establecido en el artículo primero de la Ley 41 de 1993, le corresponde a las Asociaciones de Usuarios de Distritos de Adecuación de Tierras, en coordinación con la autoridad ambiental respectiva, velar por la defensa y conservación de las cuencas hidrográficas, aportantes, circunscritas al área de un Distrito de Adecuación de Tierras.
