La Nación colombiana se asocia a la celebración de los ciento setenta (170) años de la fundación del municipio de Caramanta, en el departamento de Antioquia, a cumplirse el día 8 de febrero de 2012. Así mismo, rinde homenaje a sus primeros pobladores y exalta la memoria de sus fundadores don Gabriel Echeverri y don Juan Santamaría, entre otros.
