Area de Apoyo legal: El Area de Apoyo Legal, cumplirá las siguientes funciones

Asesorar al Director General en todo lo referente a la interpretación y aplicación de las normas legales y reglamentarias en materia de derechos humanos, desplazamiento forzado, atención y protección de testigos y personas amenazadas y aplicación del derecho internacional humanitario;

Tramitar y poner en conocimiento de las autoridades u organismos competentes las solicitudes y peticiones que lleguen al conocimiento de la Dirección relacionadas con la violación de los derechos humanos;

Las demás que le sean asignadas y que correspondan a la naturaleza del área.
