Con ocasión de cumplirse el 29 de julio de 1975 los 450 años de la fundación de Santa Marta, el Banco de la República emitirá monedas de oro con la efigie del Fundador y el escudo de Santa Marta, cuyo producido se destinará para las obras en dicha ciudad.
