Es objetivo principal de las asociaciones de radioaficionados, propender por la integración y la cooperación nacional e internacional entre sus asociados y promover la realización de eventos que estimulen la investigación, experimentación e instrucción en materia de los servicios especiales de radioaficionados. Para efecto de lo establecido en este Decreto, las asociaciones de radioaficionados deberán registrarse ante la Dirección General de Comunicación Social del Ministerio de Comunicaciones, y dará lugar al otorgamiento del respectivo distintivo de llamada. El registro para las asociaciones de radioaficionados tendrá una vigencia de diez (10) años.
