Art. 5º. La diferencia entre el valor originario de cada pensión y el que se reconoce actualmente a cada agraciado, en virtud del prorrateo mandado practicar por la Ley 50 de 1886 , se considerará cancelada. La mitad del valor de las pensiones que se vayan extinguiendo acrecerá a las pensiones reconocidas a favor de las viudas y huérfanos de militares y próceres de la Independencia. Cada seis meses se hará por el Ministerio del Tesoro la distribución proporcional de la suma indicada.
