El patrono oficial, semioficial o privado que despida a un trabajador por cualquiera de las causales enumeradas en el artículo 1o., aparte de las consecuencias jurídicas contempladas en las disposiciones laborales para el caso de despido injusto, se hará acreedor a las sanciones que prevée el artículo 2o. Cuando se trate de despidos relacionados con cargos de libre nombramiento y remoción, dicho despido estaría viciado de nulidad.
