Los estudios que requiere la carrera militar de acuerdo con este Estatuto, se efectuarán invariablemente en los Institutos Colombianos de Formación Profesional Militar. El Gobierno podrá destinar Oficiales y Suboficiales en Comisión de Estudios en el exterior, de acuerdo con las necesidades de cada Fuerza, para incrementar su preparación pero tales estudios no tendrán validez para otros efectos.
