Todo empleado o agente del Gobierno, sea que este en ejercicio de sus funciones o que se haya separado de su cargo por dimisión u otra causa, y que deba, de acuerdo con las disposiciones de leyes o reglamentos, rendir cuentas al Contralor General o a un Auditor Seccional, si no lo hiciere dentro de los dos meses siguientes al último día del periodo a que ellas correspondan, será castigado con una multa no mayor de tres mil pesos ($3,000), o con arresto por un término no mayor de dos años.
