La presente ley tiene como objeto que la Nación se asocie a los doscientos (200) años de la fundación del municipio de Guayatá, que tuvo lugar el 6 de abril de 1821 y se rinda homenaje público a través de distintos reconocimientos de carácter histórico, material, turístico-cultural y ambiental, como contribución al mismo y a sus habitantes y su valioso legado para el fortalecimiento económico y democrático del Estado colombiano.
