Otorgamiento . La medalla podrá otorgarse en cada categoría, así

Honoraria: A los ex Presidentes de la República, a presidentes o primeros ministros de otras nacionalidades, a Cardenales Colombianos, a ministros de Estado, a los Generales y Oficiales de insignia de las Fuerzas Militares y a los embajadores que en cumplimiento de sus funciones hubieren efectuado acciones o actividades en beneficio del Batallón Guardia Presidencial.

Mérito Militar: De acuerdo con lo establecido en el artículo 91 del presente decreto.
