Para que un consignatario pueda obligar al dueño de las mercancías, deberá presentar un poder suficiente de dicho dueño. Más cualquier consignatario puede obligarse así mismo, sin necesidad de autorización si presenta los fiadores respectivos (artículo 90, Ley 85 de 1915).
